Pathfinder: Wrath of The Ridgeous

The Owlcat Games studio announced they are working on a new game! At long last we will get another Pathfinder! The new game will be called Pathfinder: Wrath of The Righteous. Which mirrors campain for Pathfinder pen and paper system, and may or may not draw inspiration from other RPG Pathfinder guides, like Mythic Adventures and Ultimate Campagin.

It’s been said that the game is not a direct sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker. But the name implies it will be a sequel nontherless. As such we may have tons, upon tons of questions on how will it be done. Will the kingdom managment system apply in such campain, will it be changed or perhaps elevated? How about NPC’s? Will we see any of them again? Or perhaps it will it be Linzi who will guide the heroes who somehow find her book deep in Golandrion’s libraries? I for once would love to see all my heroes unite again.

The company confirmed that Chris Avellone along with Aleksander Miszulin and Aleksander Kozmow will be back to work on this title which i consider a great news. After all they did great job the first time.

And I must say I am hopefulll and maybe a little scared. Scared of possibilty that they may repeat the mistakes of Pllars of Eternity and hopefull because they have already said that they will „expand and elaborate on the core elements of Pathfinder: Kingmaker.”, which possibly means no cuts on games main features.

The material to build on is solid and large. Or heroes will be somehow involved in the ultimate battle against the hords of demons pouring out of Worldwound. Maybe we’ll start as fighters in next crucaise – soul surviovrs of it, perhaps? There are certainly a lot of possibilities. The game developers states that we will leave the Solen Lands and make for places infested with demons and evil. And the artwork and general feel of the game will reflect that.

This announcement is huge for me because I absolutely loved the first instalment of the game, and desperately wanted a continuation for a long time. The release date is not yet set so I guess we will just have to wait patiently.

To sweeten the waiting Owlcat games relesead an artbook for Pathfinder: Kingamker. It’s free, and avaliable as a reward for signing up on their newsletter. I would do that anyway – to have the latest news on what is going on with the game, so artbook was a nice surprise. I highly reccomennd you to sign up as well, because the drawings are both beautiful and can provide some coll new ideas for Dungeon Masters.
